Hey! First of all I want to start things off that I love recently added "new"
labels! They help me to find new apps in the categories list, and I just think
that they look really nice! But, the only thing which I think is kinda annoying
is that there's no way to remove it but by launching the app, which sometimes
can be annoying.
For example, whenever I install system on a brand new machine, I also install a
lot of apps. I have a huge list with all I need. But, if I don't want to have
this "new" label on all of them, I have to manually launch each and every on of
them via the Application Launcher, or wait like ~2 days I believe?
And often for all my basic apps I use shortcuts, which means Application
Launcher doesn't detect that I've already launched them before. Also, for
example, with Steam games, you mostly launch them with the launcher itself,
which Applications Menu doesn't detect either.
There are two possible ideas that I can think of right now:
- Making right clicking an app remove the "new" label.
- Add an "Remove 'New!' label" button in to the right click menu.
I believe this will help a lot of people like me, who enjoy the labels, but
don't want to have them on the "base pack of apps" that they install right of
the start.
