Bug ID: 526737
Summary: KDE Flatpak apps can't see
~/.config/kdedefaults/kdeglobals, and therefore ignore
information set in global themes
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
Product: flatpak-platform-plugin
Version First unspecified

Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general

Target Milestone: ---
This is a continuation of Bug 526722.
KDE's Flatpak runtime hardcodes read-only access to ~/.config/kdeglobals:
https://invent.kde.org/packaging/flatpak-kde-runtime/-/blob/qt6.11/org.kde.Sdk.json.in#L78
This does not work for theming-related information set by global themes, which
gets written to ~/.config/kdedefaults/kdeglobals. For example:
$ kreadconfig6 --group KDE --key widgetStyle
Union
$ flatpak enter org.kde.elisa kreadconfig6 --group KDE --key widgetStyle
Detected locale "C" with character encoding "ANSI_X3.4-1968", which is not
UTF-8.
Qt depends on a UTF-8 locale, and has switched to "C.UTF-8" instead.
If this causes problems, reconfigure your locale. See the locale(1) manual
for more information.
Note it didn't say "Union". As a result, my nightly Elisa Flatpak build doesn't
use Union (which is included in the nightly app at this point in time) if I
apply a Global Theme that says to use Union.
The nightly Elisa Flatpak build only uses Union if I apply it directly using
the Application Style KCM, which does write into ~/.config/kdeglobals.
