--- Comment #37 from Altarius <[email protected]> --- Additional information from my earlier report on this bug (digiKam 9.1.0, macOS 27.0.1, Apple M1 Max, 64 GB RAM): The slowdown has worsened over time. Initially it appeared after browsing 100–200 images; it now appears after only 5–10 images, with 7–10 seconds per image switch. Important finding: Light Table view is NOT affected. Browsing the same images in Light Table remains fast and responsive, with no degradation. The slowdown only occurs in the standard Preview view (and to a lesser extent in Thumbnails view). This suggests the issue is specific to the Preview rendering path rather than the database or file access layer. Additional troubleshooting performed since my last comment: Deleted thumbnails-digikam.db (71 MB) and let digiKam rebuild it from scratch — no improvement. The problem reappeared after ~10 images with a freshly built 5 MB thumbnail database. Verified the database is on local internal SSD (~/Documenti/digiKam_database), not on iCloud Drive or any synced folder. Full system restart performed — no improvement. Preview shows embedded view if available (faster) is enabled. Images are JPG (grouped with RAW as pairs); slowdown occurs on JPG previews, so RAW decoding is not involved. Current workaround: using Light Table instead of Preview for image review. This is functional but inconvenient, since Light Table displays grouped RAW+JPG pairs as separate items, requiring ratings and pick labels to be applied twice. I am available to provide logs, run test builds, or perform any specific diagnostic that would help identify the cause. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
