I updated some system packages yesterday evening and let it run through the night. I left Discover open and checked in today in the morning (so less than 12 hours later). I got the same effect and the restart option did not show up. A theory: The problem occurs when the system enters some kind of sleep state (turned off screen, etc.) for longer so it 'forgets' that there is an update to apply. When I manually sent the system to sleep mode (I tested ~10 seconds) the issue does not show up. After rescanning for updates (with no updates found), I still did not get the option to restart with updates. I closed Discover to see whether this might change something. I opened Discover and it rescanned for updates. Even it was just searching for updates a minute ago (and did _not_ find any, here it found one). I installed the package and now I get the menu to restart the system with updates in the shutdown menu again. Question: Is there a boolean that I can check eg. in the terminal or some developer tools to see if the system thinks that there are updates to install? If so I could check when the change happens. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
