Having said that, you are correct in that my system is Fedora, now at version 45. There were system updates available this morning, so I had an opportunity to try a few things while waiting for the desktop to become active. 1. The right-click on the desktop does not present a menu. 2. Alt-Space does show KRunner and I was able to type an entry - KMail, for example. 3. The program did not load until after the system "freeze" was over. 4. Clicking on any icon on the task bar during the freeze does not launch the program until after the freeze - then the app opens normally. 5. If there is an open program on the desktop, "Discover" software Center, for example, I can interact with it - such as move/minimize, or close 6. There are times when the keyboard isn't active so I can't enter my password at the login screen. I have to use the mouse and click on Restart. That generally resolves the non-functioning keyboard issue. Powering the keyboard off/on doesn't resolve the issue and neither does removing the USB connector.. FYI, the keyboard is a wireless USB setup. The mouse, which is always active/available during the "freeze" is connected via Bluetooth.
