Bug ID: 525315
Summary: System hangs at KDE Neon 6.7.4 screen during boot.
Classification: KDE Neon
Product: neon
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
During the bootup screen, after the initial loading bar on the bottom of the
screen finishes, KDE Neon 6.7.4 appears. Alongside this text is a full screen
of white square characters, and the line repeats and scrolls constantly. If I
push any keys I get a message about unexpected input.
Initially this booted to emergency mode TTY. By changing the boot settings in
GRUB I was able to disable the graphics driver and get into the OS. On reboot
the same issue occurs with the white squares, but after 30-60s it now boots
into Neon.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Update to 6.7.4, experience boot bug
2. Disable graphics drivers
3. pkcon refresh && pkcon update
OBSERVED RESULT
Initial inability to boot, fixed partially but now computer takes 60s longer to
boot and I'm not sure if it'll break again.
EXPECTED RESULT
Normal boot to desktop.
