--- Comment #3 from Matthias Baumann <[email protected]> ---
Ah I see. I did

.keymap = [](void* data, wl_keyboard* kb, const uint32_t format, const int32_t
fd, const uint32_t size) -> void {
        const auto win = static_cast<wayland_window*>(data);
        if (format != WL_KEYBOARD_KEYMAP_FORMAT_XKB_V1) {
            close(fd);
            return;
        }
        auto kbv = wl_keyboard_get_version(kb);
        spdlog::error("wl_keyboard.version {}", kbv);

=>
[2026-08-20 16:32:53.930] [info] wl_keyboard.repeat_info: rate=0 Hz, delay=600
ms
[2026-08-20 16:32:53.930] [error] wl_keyboard.version 10

My current headache is that the compositor does not handle it internally, I
currently have set it to 25 repeats / s as a fallback in my application (to get
it working). So on my system it is a double fallacy: The rate is disabled but
the compositor does not reissue the backspace key itself for sure, since, my
cursor stops after removing one character when pressing backspace for a very
long time.
