Screenshot of the SMB networking error message

As of August 13th, 2026, the last couple of versions of KDE Linux (including
20260813255 and some previous versions) have exhibited some network issues
while attempting to perform a simple file transfer.

In this case, the network is all ethernet (no wireless involved).

KDE Linux is running as a virtual machine under VirtualBox 7.2 with two CPU
threads and 16 GB of memory allocated to it. The host machine is a Lenovo
ThinkStation P330-sff running MS-Windows 2025 Server. A fastfetch text file
(for the KDE Linux VM) is included below.

When attempting to use SMB to connect to a remote machine (a Lenovo
ThinkStation-sff running MS-Windows 11 Pro) and transfer a small icon (.ico)
file to the VM, an error message is received. The remote file can be
viewed/located on the remote machine, but it cannot be transferred to the VM. A
.jpg file containing a screenshot of the error message is included as an
attachment.

I apologize for the unconventional means of reporting this. I'm 70 y.o. retired
engineer, not a programmer.
FYI, RDP is also no longer working. A couple versions back, I used to be able
to use kRDP to remote into the VM. That feature is also no longer working. So
there's more than one networking issue here.

Fastfetch for the KDE Linux VM is shown below:
