Bug ID: 524236
Summary: Format menu is not translatable
Classification: Applications
Product: ghostwriter
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
The top-level Format menu remains in English when ghostwriter uses a translated
interface. Other top-level menus, such as File, Edit, View, Settings, and Help,
are localized.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start ghostwriter with a non-English application language for which
translations are installed (for example, Simplified or Traditional Chinese).
2. Inspect the menu bar.
OBSERVED RESULT
The Format menu is displayed as "Format" instead of being localized.
EXPECTED RESULT
The Format menu label is translated like the other top-level menu labels.
CAUSE
In MainWindow::setupMenuBar(), "&Format" is passed directly to
addMenuBarMenu(), while every surrounding top-level menu label is wrapped in
tr(). Consequently, the string is neither extracted into the translation
catalog nor translated at runtime.
This is present in current master (950fa25).
