Bug ID: 524164
Summary: Keyboard shortcuts for editing should be accessible
before opening the editor
Classification: Applications
Product: Koko

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

Target Milestone: ---
A common workflow is quickly opening an image to perform a simple edit like
cropping, resizing, or rotation.
In Gwenview, it works like this:
1. Open image
2. press appropriate keyboard shortcut to crop, resize, rotate, etc
3. If necessary, interact with tool and accept changes
3. Ctrl+S to save
4. Ctrl+Q to quit
When Koko, after Bug 464821 is resolved by merging
https://invent.kde.org/graphics/koko/-/merge_requests/344, it will work like
this:
1. Open image
2. Ctrl+E to enter edit mode
3. press appropriate keyboard shortcut to crop, resize, rotate, etc
4. If necessary, interact with tool and accept changes
5. Ctrl+S to save
6. Ctrl+Q to quit
With Koko, there's an extra step: the Ctrl+E to enter edit mode.
It would be nice if the workflow could be as fast as Gwenview where the editing
shortcuts are accessible from anywhere in the app, not just the editing view.
This isn't a huge deal, but it would be nice if we could skip that step to make
the workflow as fast as in Gwenview.
