DESCRIPTION
The picture of the day wallpaper is very slow at downloading the image, no
matter the provider.
After selecting a provider, even if the preview did not load yet, you can apply
the settings and the desktop wallpaper will update at some point -
functionally, it does work (eventually).
I don't know if the screen resolution plays a role, and maybe it impacts the
download. My screen resolution is 5120x2160 @ 115% scale.
However, no noticeable network traffic appears in System Monitor when switching
providers, which makes me believe the download is not even starting.
Also, clicking on the preview in the window to open the link to the source
opens the web page and the picture loads almost instantly.
I just tested this, I have written this entire comment, and the loading
indicator is still on. It's been more than 10 minutes. There are no apps using
the network connection at this time.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right-click on Desktop and choose "Desktop and Wallpaper"
2. In the Wallpaper tab, change "Wallpaper type" to "Picture of the Day"
3. Observe the preview image as it loads
OBSERVED RESULT
The picture takes a very long time to download and show in the preview.
EXPECTED RESULT
The download should not take any longer than 30 seconds on a GbE network
connection, even assuming power saving or other network speed inhibitors.
