Bug ID: 523604
Summary: No apparent way to turn off only push notifications
Classification: Applications
Product: NeoChat
Version First git master
Reported In:
Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Keywords: usability
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: General
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
This is with the KDE nightly build of NeoChat.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be on a distro with kunifiedpush installed onto the host OS
2. Open NeoChat's settings window
3. Go to Notifications
OBSERVED RESULT
There's a checkbox saying "Enable notifications for this account". Fine, if I
wanted to turn off all notifications. But I want to have notifications while
the app is running, but NOT receive notifications from the push distributor
when NeoChat isn't running.
I can't seem to find a way to do that within NeoChat; the only way I found is
un-registering it using the kunifiedpush KCM (note that doesn't fully work
either; see Bug 522951, Bug 522952, and Bug 523368)
EXPECTED RESULT
Settings like so:
> Receive notifications for new messages:
> [x] While NeoChat is running
> [ ] While NeoChat is closed
And the user would have to opt into "while NeoChat is closed" push
notifications, at least on the desktop. Maybe this is expected on mobile, but
on desktop it's definitely not.
