            Bug ID: 523458
Summary: Transfer of large file from SMB address keeps getting
                    interrupted
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First 26.04.3
       Reported In:

            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general

  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
When I copy a large 4.7GB file from my windows machine using "smb://" address
in Dolphin the transfer starts with good transfer speed for my network - around
40MB/s - but after a few seconds suddenly drops to 0MB/s and after staying
stalled like that some more time is then interrupted with a failure error
message and a prompt to retry or cancel. Retrying works fine for a bit again
then gives the same error again after a different/random interval of a few
seconds.

A similar thing happens when I try and use smbclient from a terminal. For that
case, the fix from the accepted answer in
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/31900/smbclient-alternative-for-large-files
works. In particular, it was the SO_RCVBUF=131072 socket option which helped
it. I imagine the SNDBUF one might be needed for large transfers in the other
direction too.
It may seem unrelated, but might be relevant in case Dolphin uses libsmbclient
or a similar implementation, so I hope its devs can check it and add that
socket options.

Another noteworthy thing is that if I start a transfer with smbclient with the
option that fixes it, and in the middle of that also start a copy operation
from Dolphin, the smbclient transfer gets more or less instantly interrupted
too, further convincing me they share some libraries/components. This seems to
be reproduced quite reliably. The same happens if I run two smbclient transfers
at once, one with the option and one without - even the one with that option
gets interrupted. If the two transfers are both with the option they work fine.
