My best guess is that KWin requests desktop OpenGL, but it somehow ends up using OpenGL ES, for which different flags are valid. Can you add KWIN_COMPOSE=O2ES to /etc/environment and reboot? Does > wayland-info | grep linux_dmabuf print anything after that?
