            Bug ID: 521290
Summary: Intel Haswell + Wayland + simple color correction =
                    degraded performance.
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.6.5
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: colour-management
          Assignee: [email protected]

                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

When applying a simple ICC profile under Plasma Wayland, My Haswell IGP
performances degrades by about 10%.

Under Xorg, the same ICC profile can be applied via dispwin (I guess via RandR
CRTC gamma LUT / hardware 1D gamma ramp), with absolutely NO IMPACT.

Could you please consider supporting a "fast path” for ICC profiles that can
be mapped directly to hardware CRTC gamma LUT (1D), without forcing (i guess)
shader-based color transformation?

This would preserve Xorg-par performance for simple display calibration
profiles while still allowing full color management paths for advanced ICC
profiles requiring 3D LUTs.

Thanks.
