DESCRIPTION
System under most circumstances doesnt persist your view location in a given
album if you change context and return to said album. Typical use case problem.
I bring in say 500 images from a football game I shot. I put those under some
generic 'to be sorted' folder along with its date and game name etc. Now, its
very typical to tag up all of those photos with some game ID etc, but then I
will move photos off to other folders (typically, classes of photos-
touchdowns, or great catches, or whatever. That can make it easier to group
tag, or even just persist photos by their core visual strength/publishing use.
So say I have this 500 image folder and Im midway scrolled through, looking for
stuff I want to move off vs archive. Say I find something, and I try to drag it
to an existing 'class' folder/album, but I manage to accidentally lose drag
focus on the image and just select the target folder instead. Returning to the
source folder, Im indexed back to position 1. Likewise, if I have some new
class- maybe I want to create a two handed catch in the endzone folder, if I
click on the parent for Touchdown Catches or whatever that parent is, and
create the new subdolder, again, going back to the source folder that contains
the image I want to move to this new folder- Im back to index position 1.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Scroll through a large collection of files in an given album- 1000-5000
files.
2. Create a new folder/album somewhere- Sports\Test for example, where you want
to drag a photo in the position you left the scroll in step 1
3. Return to the source folder. Your position is lost.
OBSERVED RESULT
System should persist the image index or page location that was active when
focus changed for some other purpose- any purpose (edit, move file, create new
folder etc etc), Returning to any folder should default position to the last
index/scroll position that was persisted. If for whatever reason those images
are gone (deleted extra-app, or deduplicated etc) you are no worse off. Simply
liming index/bounds to the number of photos in the folders). Id a folder is
merged, destroy the index object for it as it is not longer relevant etc.
EXPECTED RESULT
Leaving any album where you have indexed position to some image of interest
should not cause the system to lose position on return. In some cases, it does
persist- perhaps when you move a file and return. But it doesnt do it for most
cases- creating a new folder somewhere, or clicking on another album.
