Bug ID: 520679
Summary: GIMP creates a new icon with preview of
currently-opened file
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.6.5
Reported In:
Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager widgets
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
In the icons-only task manager, I have had GIMP pinned since time immemorial.
Since Plasma 6.6, however, clicking on the GIMP icon creates a new icon in the
non-pinned area (to the right in my case) which shows a monochrome GIMP icon
together with a preview of the currently-opened file. This means that GIMP
entries are duplicated. Pinning the new icon is possible, but the icon never
reverts to the theme-defined one and instead always shows a preview of a file,
even when the application is closed.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have GIMP pinned
2. Launch it
OBSERVED RESULT
A new icon is created in the non-pinned section with a non-standard icon.
EXPECTED RESULT
The pinned icon remains the only one and is defined by the selected icon theme.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE Neon
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.25.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This happens across all of my computers, and across both X11 and Wayland. It
should be noted that this isn't due to changes in GIMP, as I am using version
2.10.36 and haven't updated it nor changed its configuration.
