Stefano Caruso Corrado <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|RESOLVED |REOPENED Ever confirmed|0 |1 Resolution|UPSTREAM |--- --- Comment #12 from Stefano Caruso Corrado <[email protected]> --- I'd like to share two updates that may be relevant to reconsider this bug. 1. libinput maintainer confirmed the fix belongs in KWin. I followed up by filing an issue with the libinput maintainer (Peter Hutterer), who confirmed that this is not something that will be fixed in libinput, and that the compositor is the correct place to implement it — specifically as a coordinate mapping to an arbitrary rectangle, noting that compositors already have this code for mapping tablets to screens. Full exchange here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/work_items/1288 Given this, would it be possible to reopen this bug and retarget it against KWin? 2. X11 deprecation adds urgency. Plasma 6.8 is planned to drop X11 support in October 2026. Currently, the only working workarounds for standalone tablet users who need rotation are switching to an X11 session (via xsetwacom) or replacing the driver entirely with OpenTabletDriver. Once X11 is removed, neither of these will be viable, leaving affected users with no alternative. Thank you for your time and for maintaining such a great desktop environment. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
