            Bug ID: 517725
Summary: Spacebar not working on Android
    Classification: Applications
           Product: krita
      Version First 5.3.0-beta3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Android
                OS: Unspecified
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
Component: Shortcuts and Canvas Input Settings
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
On recent Android versions, shortcuts with the spacebar are not working
properly. Using the default Krita configurations, Spacebar to pan doesn't work,
but ctrl+spacebar for zoom does. Curiously, pressing ctrl+space and then
releasing the ctrl key but keeping spacebar pressed, the pan tool is invoked
until released, then stops working again.
As I elaborate further, the issue seems to stem from how Android uses the
spacebar to select UI elements (or to start a selection to move around with the
arrow keys, then pressing spacebar again registers as a tap)

In both "Keyboard Shortctus" and "Canvas input settings", when setting a
shortcut, spacebar does not work. If you keep the key pressed however, it
registers multiple spaces (shows shortcut as space+space+space...) but the
shortcut doens't work regardlessly. Also, if I keep pressing Space when
entering a keystroke for a shortcut, it deselects the shortcut window, and if
pressed again, it reselects the window, suggesting the spacebar is working as a
"select" shortcut as if it was navigating along the native Android interface
(pressing spacebar on the apps screen selects the first app, if pressed again,
opens the selected app)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.Try using spacebar as a keystroke for setting a shortcut
OR
1.Try invoking the Pan mode by pressing the spacebar

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens. When making a shortcut, the spacebar simply closes/deselects
the shortcut, pressing again reselects it but can never input it for the
shortcut.

EXPECTED RESULT
Spacebar should be assigned on a shortcut. On default settings, it should
invoke Pan mode.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Android 16 - One UI 8.0 (Galaxy Tab s9 Ultra, any external keyboard)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It started appearing on earlier versions of krita, but I can't tell which since
I was temporarilly working on Windows at the time. It seems to have been caused
by an Android update, since I had not updated Krita in a while when I first
experienced it. Downgrading Krita versions does not fix this, further
suggesting it is an Android bug or override on Krita. It works as expected on
other art programs such as Clip Studio Paint.
