Bug ID: 517715
Summary: Improper spacing/padding of items in left column of
Application Menu
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.6.1
Reported In:
Platform: EndeavourOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Application Menu (Kicker) widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
The Application Menu has recently changed the spacing of the left column that
has the Favorites on top and below them the three Logout, Restart, and Shutdown
buttons.
Before Plasma 6.6, the three buttons were just justified to the bottom, with
padding after the last item in the Favorites. But now, they’re all bunched to
the top of the column; and removing an item in the Favorites bumps those three
buttons higher. This is breaking users' muscle-memory for reaching for the
Shutdown/Restart button.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Application Menu.
2. Add or remove items in the Favorites and observe padding behavior of the
session buttons.
OBSERVED RESULT
The three buttons for Logout, Restart, and Shutdown are justified against the
Favorites, no matter how few or many.
EXPECTED RESULT
The three buttons for Logout, Restart, and Shutdown should always be justified
to the bottom of the column.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: EndeavourOS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
