--- Comment #14 from [email protected] --- I want to be able to *temporarily* change my screen gamma independent of any profile, as a way of letting me quickly inspect shadows in photos or videos. Many viewers and editors either don't provide a way to change gamma or require editing changes. I frequently use `xgamma -gamma 2` as a quick and dirty way to see the shadow detail of a video, which may help me decide whether the video is usable and to help me work out my editing strategy.
