Screenshot of monitor config, with a red arrow to indicate where the cursor
gets stuck
SUMMARY
This is a feature request.
When using multiple monitors with different resolutions or scale factors (e.g.,
a 4K monitor next to a 1080p monitor), the cursor gets stuck at certain points
along the screen edge boundary between the two displays. I think this happens
because the pixel grids don't align perfectly creating a kind of deadzone where
the mouse can't transition to the other monitor. For example, if the screens
are top-aligned the "deadzone" is at the bottom right of the larger display.
This has nothing to do with the Edge barriers feature.
It is pretty frustrating when I want to move the cursor to the other screen at
the bottom and it gets stuck. Happens to me multiple times in a day since i got
a second display with a different resolution.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Fresh KDE installation, i believe OS doesnt matter
2. Have two displays of different sizes (either beacuse of resolution or scale)
3. Arrange them like in the screenshot
4. Observe that the cursor cant move along the bottom of the screen to the
other monitor, see attachment. Arrow indicates where the cursor gets stuck
OBSERVED RESULT
The cursor gets stuck at the bottom of the screen when trying to move to the
other monitor
EXPECTED RESULT
The cursor moves to the other monitor and jumps to the lowest y and leftmost x
coordinate on the other monitor
SUGGESTED FEATURE
Option in the monitor settings akin to the Windows 11 "Ease cursor movement
between displays" option. This option would enable seamless transistions
between displays like described in the EXPEDTED RESULT section.
