            Bug ID: 517325
Summary: Plasma Login Manager KCM fails to list/detect custom
                    wallpaper plugins - workaround included
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasma-login-manager
      Version First 6.6.2
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: ---

While Plasma Login Manager (PLM) supports wallpaper plugins, the System
Settings module (KCM) currently only displays pre-installed/default wallpaper
options. Third-party or custom plugins (installed to
`/usr/share/plasma/wallpapers/`) do not appear in the selection list.

However, the backend successfully supports these plugins if they are manually
defined in the configuration file.

Steps to reproduce:

Install a custom wallpaper plugin to `/usr/share/plasma/wallpapers/`.

Open System Settings > Login Screen.

Observe that the custom plugin is missing from the wallpaper type selection
menu.

Workaround:
Manually adding `WallpaperPluginId=your.plugin.id` under the `[Greeter]`
section in `/etc/plasmalogin.conf` successfully applies the wallpaper.

Expected Results:
Your plugin should now display on the login screen, but it still won't show up
in the KCM.

Tested and confirmed on Arch Linux.
