Hi Anita,
If Krita 3.0.1 crashed whenever you closed a document, I'm beginning to suspect
that there are issues with your laptop. Can you try to disable opengl
(settings/configure krita/display) and see if that helps with 3.1.1? If that
makes a difference, please tell us the exact model of your laptop.
