i read the report 514220 and found a request for the local command. i got this
now:
locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=en_US
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=en_US.UTF-8
LC_TIME=en_US.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY=en_US.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER=en_US.UTF-8
LC_NAME=en_US.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=en_US.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=en_US.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=en_US.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=es_PR.UTF-8
LC_ALL=
previously it was showing all es_PR.UTF-8. eventhough the system was installed
with american english. i switch to another and back to american english and it
as shown above. I am in puerto rico but do not speak spanish thus the [defaut]
american english on install. the weather app now shows english date abrevations
. all ok as english (eventhough i speak Portuguese). all the best
