I just tested it with Akonadi 5.2.2 and KMail 5.2.3 on Debian Unstable.
This still happens.
# Steps to reproduce:
1. Have an IMAP account.
2. Open Akonadi console
3. Select a folder to trigger a sync
4. Watch percent display in IMAP resource in Akonadiconsole
# Actual results:
Values of 10000% or more.
# Expected results:
A maximum of 100% progress.
