When trying to fix this, however, I noticed that, at least on my system, Dolphin too doesn't execute those files but displays them in a text editor (Kate, in my case). Could you please check whether the same happens on your system? Try launching Dolphin, then enter applications:/ in the address bar, press enter and navigate to a single application and double click it: does it launch the application or does it open the .desktop file in a text editor? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
