spectacle preview window showing artifacts

SUMMARY
After performing a screen recording using spectacle, it opens a video player
showing the video it captured. This video appears corrupted with colored
stripes. However, the actual saved video file looks normal.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Spectacle > New Recording > choose *any* mode (Rectangular Region, Full
Screen, or Window).
2. Hit the red dot to finish recording.
3. Observe the video preview window that comes up.

OBSERVED RESULT
The video player shows green stripes, along with fainter lines. (orange, red,
or blue from what I've seen) [preview.jpg]
The actual video file that was saved does not have these artifacts.

EXPECTED RESULT
The preview video player shows the video correctly.
