SUMMARY
KDE+Wayland+Fcitx language switching doesn't work in face recognition
interface. When in People interface (Menu Browse/People), hovering over a face
detected on photo opens an edit box allowing to enter person's name. When
switching to language other than English, only a first letter is entered in
that language, next letters are entered in English. This works well with KDE
default language switching, but not with fcitx. Language switching works well
in other parts of application I tried, for example in picture rename dialog.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure fcitx in settings/keyboard/virtual keyboard. Add languages (on my
system I configured English, Russian, Hebrew and Japanese)
2. In Digikam scan collection for faces, then hover mouse over any Unknown
face, so edit box appears proposing you to enter name of the person.
3. Switch to any non-English language and enter name
OBSERVED RESULT
First letter of the entered name is entered with selected language, but all
next letters are lating
EXPECTED RESULT
Enter whole name in selected language
