I managed to find out exact steps to reproduce the issue:
0. if you do not have virtual desktops, enable them to have at least two;
1. open K menu or notification or klipper tray menu or battery monitor info
panel (just left click on almost any of systray icons except KMix)
2. switch to other virtual desktop (by clicking on virtual desktop switcher or
using CTRL + Fx key combo = both works)
3. observe how notification/systray menu/k menu (whatever was open) disappears
and it is not possible to get it back.
