Summary: System Settings forces subpixel rendering even when
                    configuration is set to greyscale
    Classification: Applications
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: 5.27.10
          Platform: SteamOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kcm_fonts

Screen clip from system settings showing that subpixel is active when it
shouldn't be. Zoom in to see the colour fringing.

SUMMARY

Subpixel rendering is being forced even when rgba is set to none and lcdfilter
is set to lcdnone.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change sub-pixel rendering to none in fonts settings.

OBSERVED RESULT
Subpixel rendering is present in the system settings app across reboots.

EXPECTED RESULT
Greyscale, which is respected in other apps such as Dolphin.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: SteamOS 3.6.22 Build: 20250224.1
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.12

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For other applications such as Dolphin, it IS using greyscale there. So it is
the system settings app that insists on the usage of cleartype rendering.. for
some reason.
