I've also been hit by this just recently.

Until a few weeks ago, my system has been using ~10W when locked, but then
suddenly went up to ~30W and also using noticeable more energy during active
sessions.

Due to me using Activities quite heavily for separating work and relying on
Window positions being remembered when starting a session (too many to
rearrange each time, some Activities rarely used but needed to be ready more or
less immediately) I am still stuck with X11.

The workaround by restarting the kwin_x11 session seems to bring things down
again:

So I would actually call this a regression, since the system behavior was
totally energy-friendly to my system before.

- Platform: ASRock X300
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
- RAM: 64 GIB
- Disk: Seagate Firecuda 530 (2TB)
