            Bug ID: 501312
Summary: Tooltips are displayed on hover, even if tooltips are
                    disabled in Settings
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 6.3.2
          Platform: Manjaro
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) widget
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: windows2li...@zoho.com
                CC: mikel5...@gmail.com, noaha...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Tooltips are displayed whenever I hover my mouse over items in the Application
Launcher (Kickoff), but I have them *disabled* under System Settings > General
Behavior

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Disable tooltips under System Settings > General Behavior
2. Open the Application Launcher (Kickoff) and hover your mouse over items

OBSERVED RESULT
Tooltips ("descriptions") are displayed when hovering with the mouse over menu
items.

EXPECTED RESULT
No tooltips should display upon mouse hover. Shouldn't matter if a menu item
has a long "description" or not.

ADDITIONAL INFO
What seems to be happening is that Kickoff still wants to display a menu item's
"description" if it's not short enough to fit in the viewable space.

Short descriptions do not trigger a tooltip to appear. Long descriptions will
appear as a tooltip.

If you disable description's ("Name only") in the Kickoff settings, then *all*
items with a description will trigger a tooltip, even if the description is
"short".
