The setting persists effectively bricking the connection to that one specific monitor. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use Thinkpad T480 with ASUS VG34V and DisplayPort to USB-C converter 2. In display configuration change Color accuracy to Prefer color accuracy 3. freeze OBSERVED RESULT The computer got frozen/very slow, after 15 seconds the setting did NOT revert back. After that, everytime I connected the external monitor the computer froze and I could not change the color accuracy. I had to edit kwinoutputconfig.json manually.
