> Some questions:

No.

> - Does it happen when the system puts the display to sleep?

No.

> - Does it happen when the system suspends?

Yes.

> - Are there more than one screen?

Two machines, one has a single screen, other one has two with one used.

> - Are there more than one GPU?

No.

> - Is it a PRIME system with muxing? If so, which GPU was driving the display?

No.

> - Is the cursor visible?

Yes, only the cursor. By moving the cursor it also changes to typing icon when
over the password field.

> - Are there any GUI elements visible?

Nothing besides the cursor.

> - Is the broken lock screen function (e.g. blindly typing your password and
> hitting Enter unlocks)?

Typing the password does nothing at first. It eventually unlocks after some
minutes,
so the input wasn't frozen.

> - Is there a method that brings you back to a working desktop (e.g. killing
> kscreenlocker_greet).

Yet to try.

> - Is the desktop session using X11 or Wayland?

Exclusively happens on X11. No issues on Wayland.
