Open a terminal and set the QT_LOGGING_RULES environment variable to enable debug traces for digiKam: export QT_LOGGING_RULES="digikam*=true" To save the debug output to a file, redirect the output when launching digiKam: digikam > digikam_debug.log 2>&1 This will create a file named digikam_debug.log in your current directory containing all the debug information.
