cwo <cwo....@posteo.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |cwo....@posteo.net Resolution|DOWNSTREAM |DUPLICATE --- Comment #9 from cwo <cwo....@posteo.net> --- This does come from fcitx5, but we could do a better job of warning the users that their configuration will be overwritten now that some distributions seem to ship it for everyone, not just users deliberately installing it for CJK etc. language input support. I'll dupe it to the main bug we have for this. php4fan, please complain to your distribution about this; this is not a good setup by default at present and they should not install it for users that have not explicitly opted into it. fcitx5 is an input method framework that is used to type in languages that cannot be typed directly with a keyboard, such as Chinese with its thousands of different characters. To work properly, it completely takes over keyboard control, regularly erasing whatever you configured in plasma. At present there is nothing we can do about this from our end except warn users. You have two options: 1) uninstall fcitx5, it's not required unless you need its specific features or 2) configure your keyboard layout (and how to switch between them if you use multiple layouts) through fcitx5's configuration. It should be available as an application called "Fcitx 5". *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 357194 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
