Can partly confirm this issue using VLC Player:
CASE 1 - playing music in VLC
In the "Battery and Power" widget, there is no indication listed for blocking
sleep at inactivity.
System goes to sleep on the timeout specified in the power management settings,
media playing is stopped, unexpected result from user experience. ✘
CASE 2 - playing video in VLC
In the "Battery and Power" widget, VLC is listed as currently blocking sleep at
inactivity.
System does not go to sleep, media keeps playing, expected result. ✔
