Bug ID: 500033 Summary: KWin and Plasma crash after plugging in Thunderbolt dock Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.3.0 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: generic-crash Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: j.oster+5f2vy...@posteo.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 178324 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=178324&action=edit stacktrace of kwin SUMMARY After plugging my Thunderbolt-based dock out and back in, kwin and plasmashell immediately crashed. For some yet unknown reason, this did not happen the first time, only after ~1h of usage. After rebooting, I was not able to reproduce it as well, so it's maybe something that only happens after a while. As a consequence, I am not sure whether the steps below are the actual reproduction steps, they're only a guess. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use your device for a while, while being connected to a Thunderbolt dock. 2. Plug it out. 3. Plug it back in. OBSERVED RESULT KWin and plasmashell crashed. EXPECTED RESULT They don't. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 41 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.12.11-200.fc41.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1145G7 @ 2.60GHz Memory: 15.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I hope the attached stacktraces are actually useful. If you need the *.zst coredumps as well, just tell me, I copied them over to a backup location so they don't get deleted. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
