Bug ID: 499783 Summary: Configuring a label font unexpectedly changes the dropdown too Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 24.12.2 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: john....@pelago.org.uk CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When configuring a label font and choosing a custom font, the text "System Font" and "Custom Font" is temporarily rendered in the chosen font, oddly. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin 2. Configure Dolphin 3. Navigate to View then to one of Icons, Compact, or Details 4. Choose Label font: Custom Font then click Choose 5. Pick a font that looks noticeably different, maybe Bold and Italic just to make sure 6. Click OK 7. Look at the word System Font and Custom Font in the Label font dropdown OBSERVED RESULT Both items in the dropdown are now rendered in the custom font. EXPECTED RESULT At the very least, I'd expect System Font to *not* be rendered in the custom font, but to be honest, I think I'd prefer both to be rendered in the system font. I understand that it's nice to see a preview, but you've already seen a preview during the Choose process, and it looks odd seeing it in the dropdown. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20250209 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.13.1-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Note that if you do set a custom font, then OK the Configure window, then go back into Configure Dolphin, the dropdown text System Font and Custom Font are both rendered in the system font again (which to my eyes is a good thing). This reinforces to me that the dropdown text temporarily changing to be rendered in the custom font is a bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
