            Bug ID: 499599
Summary: VLC not correctly applying "clicking files or folders
                    selects them" from workspace behaviors
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 6.2.5
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: vera...@protonmail.com
                CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
In workspace/general behaviors, I have the workspace behavior set to "clicking
files or folders selects them" instead of "clicking files or folders opens
them." This appears to work as expected in Dolphin or other programs which can
open file navigation dialogs. However, in VLC specifically, navigating via the
"open file..." menu or when clicking items on a playlist, a single click opens
them instead of selecting them.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open VLC and go to media>open file...
2. navigate to a directory and single-click on a file.

Alternatively,

1. queue up multiple audio files on a playlist within VLC
2. single click on a song

OBSERVED RESULT
Single clicking a folder opens it, single clicking on a song in a queue causes
it to start playing.

EXPECTED RESULT
Single clicking a folder selects it, single clicking on a song in a queue
selects it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Kernel Version: 6.13.1-zen1-1-zen (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-13500H
Memory: 15.3 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Reinstalling VLC via pacman did not fix the behavior.

Setting the global settings to "clicking files or folders opens them" and
applying, restarting, then going back and setting the global settings to
"clicking files or folders selects them" and applying/restarting did not fix
the behavior.

This behavior only occurs on one of my three laptops. All three are on the same
Linux/KDE versions, Wayland, and the Mesa graphics driver, but this only occurs
on the newest of my 3 laptops. I do not know what is different between them.

Comparing Journalctl messages between the working and not working machines does
not appear to show any differences if I open VLC, open a file dialog and
navigate around, then close VLC. journalctl -b -p 3 does not appear to show
anything relevant to VLC.
