No, in my case it's reproducible even after a cold boot. I have a small update, not sure if it will be useful, but anyway... The built-in screen on my laptop has been having issues for the past couple of months, and a few days ago it finally died, so only the external display is working now. So, I went into the BIOS and completely disabled the built-in display.
