Based on some further dialogue on Discuss (from here forward:

), perhaps the main benefit here could be accomplished by taking however
Dolphin restores a closed window when you "re-launch" it externally, using
Super+E or from the Task Manager icon, and exposing that via an "Undo close
window" menu item?
