Bug ID: 498541 Summary: Scroll to new lines off still keeps pushing log lines up Classification: Applications Product: KSystemLog Version: 24.08.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: nicolas.ternis...@gmail.com Reporter: stvn.do...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Please remove this comment after reading and before submitting - thanks! *** SUMMARY Slight UX woe within KSystemLog. Scrolling does not stay stable when I set "Scroll to new lines" off - log lines keep crawling up. I see this as the middle ground between the default following mode and stopping watching logs altogether. As such, screen content should not change. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start KSystemLog, observe new log lines pushing up old ones (=following new logs) 2. Right-click, set "Scroll to new lines" off OBSERVED RESULT Log lines still keep moving up at the pace of incoming new logs. EXPECTED RESULT Stable screen: log lines only move when user scrolls away. New lines get appended to the bottom (as if just growing downwards).
