digiKam-8.5.0-Qt6-Win64

this had been working fine but has started to crash on startup. 
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling
I tried removing all references to digilkam in the registry
I tried removing databases and starting from scratch
none of the above resolves the issue

Windows 10 fully patched

During startup it seems to load/initalise  everything, then a blank creen shows
up for a few seconds before closing.
