Let me take an example in another field: good fonts and icons do not display the same level of details depending on their size, because it would look blurry at samall size, defeating readability. The rounded edges should be only at ends that are *not* located next to another meaningful data. Note that I am not against rounded effects, but they should be used with parsimony.
