This is the same behavior that was fixed in bug 468546 in 6.2.0, there may be a
regression
I can't reproduce this on git-master, and have had a bunch of icons on the
desktop for months.
Can you confirm the settings if you right click the desktop and go to Icons ->
Sort By ? Thanks!
