            Bug ID: 357195
Summary: Plasma desktop or the KCM for the Display settings
loses the chosen resolution and configuration
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: 5.5.2
          Platform: Archlinux Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: korg...@yandex.com

After choosing the proper monitor configuration (DVI-0 as primary, HDMI-0 as
secondary on the left of the DVI-0 monitor) and the proper resolutions, DVI-0
as 1920x1200 and HDMI-0 as 1920x1080 and saving everything the system sometimes
"forgets" every setting.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to system Settings and Display configuration
2. Drag the HDMI-0 display to the right side of the DVI-0 display
3. Click on DVI-0 and set its native resolution (instead of the 720xSomething
that is selected), confirm
4. Click on HDMI-0 and set its native resolution (instead of the 720xSomething
that is selected, confirm
5. Set the DVI-0 monitor as the primary
6. Click apply, exit system configuration and perform a clean shutdown of the
system using the graphical menu

Actual Results:
You can see that in the transition from SDDM to Plasma Desktop that the
resolution changes. Inside plasma you will notice that the monitor is
stretching a very poor resolution to fill all available pixels. Inside System
Settings -> Display configuration you'll see that both monitors are piled one
on top of the other, the resolutions have fallen back to 720xSomething and the
primary monitor reverted to HDMI-0.

Expected Results:
Whenever the system boots again or a new user session is created plasma desktop
will keep all the settings that were specified.

I have a two monitor setup. My primary monitor is a 1920x1200 flat screen. My
second monitor is a regular FullHD TV that sits to the right side of the
primary.

I use the HDMI screen once in a while. Most of the time it's either turned off
or displaying regular TV. It is very difficult for me to plug and unplug the
HDMI cable, because it is hidden behind the fixed desk.

Starting another user session is almost a sure way to mess up the Display
configuration afterwards (after a reboot).
