I am developing some autograding code for my university which depends on
adding metadata to notebooks, to remember e.g. the number of points of each
problem, and so on.

I see that when one writes a notebook, the validate function is called.
And that function has an option, strip_invalid_metadata, which is off by
default.

Are there plans to turn it on at some point? It's very convenient to adapt
notebooks to one's own purposes by adding metadata directly into them...

Many thanks,

Luca
