What Michaël was thinking about Sextante actually works already. There
is a rename field process in the vector tools and several renames can
be chained with the graphical modeler. See the attached image. Once
the model is saved it can be used from Sextante toolbox. OpenJUMP user
must first set the folder for the models with the Sextante settings tool.
Sextante does not rename fields in place, it makes a copy of the layer.
